In the spring of 2004 we were sitting around downtown Donny’s Garage having a few sarsaparillas and picking some old tyme mountain songs, when all of a sudden we both had a brainwave at the same time. Now I know there are people out there who are wondering what brain we are talking about but nevertheless we had this idea of starting a club dedicated to playing and promoting bluegrass and old tyme music.

The Thorndale Bluegrass Society was alive and kicking from that moment on.

And here we are still, after holding four Bluegrass Concerts which featured some of the best bands in Ontario and imbibing numerous mason jars of corn drippings and about to embark on a new chapter, cuz we are moving!

Yes folks we are moving from the Old Barn Studio behind the Hardware Store to the Scout Hall behind the Anglican Church which is located directly across the road and on the other side of the creek from the Hardware Store.

Our plans are to move sometime in July of 2010 and will keep you updated on our website as soon as we have firmed up our deal re: insurance and stuff….
